Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Litigation Associate in White Plains, NY. The successful candidate will join a dynamic Labor and Employment practice group, representing employers in complex employment matters across various industries. The role requires strong litigation, research, writing, and advocacy skills, with experience managing sophisticated employment cases through all litigation phases.

Duties

• Independently manage all phases of employment litigation from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Attend and advocate at court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
• Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage disputes.
• Advise employers on workplace issues, compliance, and risk management strategies.
• Manage discovery, motion practice, investigations, and case deadlines in state and federal courts.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic guidance.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to develop litigation strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of employment litigation experience.
• Admission to practice in New York required.
• Experience handling matters in state and federal court.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions and conducting depositions.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage an active caseload and prioritize deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
