Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Of Counsel for its San Diego office. This role offers a significant opportunity to engage in litigation representing both private and public entity employers.

Duties

  • Represent clients in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
  • Handle FLSA and wage and hour claims, including class and collective actions.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda; argue motions.
  • Conduct and defend depositions; manage discovery activities.
  • Draft EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.
  • Provide advice on federal and state employment law compliance.
  • Engage in labor relations, including negotiations and arbitrations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of substantive experience in employment litigation.
  • Trial or arbitration experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills
