Job Overview:
A prominent law firm specializing in estate planning, trust administration, and probate litigation is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to build a long-term career with opportunities for growth toward partnership. The position is based in Solana Beach, California, offering a collaborative work environment with strong paralegal support and access to premium research and drafting tools.

Location:

  • San Diego, California

Duties:

  • Draft, analyze, and revise estate planning documents, including wills, various trusts, and ancillary documents.
  • Conduct research on probate, tax laws, advanced planning, and trust techniques.
  • Explain complex legal concepts and estate plan provisions clearly to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding and addressing their estate planning needs.
  • Represent clients in the Probate division of the California Civil Court and related civil matters.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Additional licenses in Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona, Texas, or Florida are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, trust administration, and probate administration.
  • Strong client relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and use of estate planning software tools.
  • Familiarity with WestLaw, CEB OnLaw, and WealthCounsel is beneficial.
