Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage Attorney in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage or related fields. This role requires managing a caseload from start to finish, demonstrating strong judgment, and maintaining professional communication. The attorney will primarily work from the New Jersey office while supporting matters across the firm's footprint.

Duties

• Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions.
• Review complex insurance contracts and assess related legal issues.
• Communicate with clients to provide clear and strategic coverage recommendations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Manage litigation caseloads, including depositions and court appearances.
• Perform in-depth legal research and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
• Accurately record and maintain billable hours.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in the State of New York is required.
• Federal Court experience is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage or related fields.
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Experience with written discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
