Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Capital Markets Associate to join its Short Hills, NJ office. This role involves working with public companies on reporting, compliance, corporate governance, and capital markets. The associate will support a national capital markets and public company advisory practice.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs and contracts.
• Manage complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies.
• Participate in high-level legal activities such as hearings and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.
• Engage in professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to firm programs and pro bono work.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of capital markets experience.
• Experience with large cap and mid cap public companies.
• Strong knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
• Experience with Nasdaq and NYSE listing and governance requirements.
• AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey.
