Duties

  • Handle FEHA and single-plaintiff employment actions from inception through conclusion
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Attend court hearings and trials
  • Assist in client meetings and consultations
  • Manage caseloads and ensure deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of in-court litigation and deposition-handling experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of law and motion briefing and argument
  • Experience in plaintiff or defense side employment law is a plus
  • Superior oral advocacy skills and confidence
  • Great analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail, honesty, dependability, and computer savvy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email/Calendar, Adobe Acrobat, Apple Operating System, and other litigation software
  • Fluency in English (spoken & written); Spanish is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar license, with no disciplinary history
