Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving marriage dissolution, custody conflicts, and financial support disputes

  • Provide empathetic and strategic counsel to clients navigating emotionally charged legal challenges

  • Prepare and argue motions, draft legal filings, and engage in both settlement and trial preparation

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution forums

  • Collaborate with colleagues, financial experts, and mental health professionals to build strong case narratives

  • Maintain detailed case documentation and ensure consistent, clear communication with clients throughout the process

Required Background & Licensing:

  • 1 to 6 years of professional legal experience, ideally with exposure to domestic relations or high-conflict family disputes

  • Current admission to practice law in the State of New York and be in good standing

  • Demonstrated litigation experience, with comfort handling sensitive, time-intensive matters

  • Familiarity with New York family court procedures and applicable state laws

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree earned from an accredited U.S. law school

Core Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal instincts and the ability to build trust with clients in difficult personal situations

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities, with a persuasive and clear voice

  • Adept at juggling competing deadlines, shifting client needs, and court demands

  • Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and resilient in the face of client or case pressures

  • Team-oriented mindset with the initiative to manage cases independently
