A law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its team in New York, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with strong litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for personal injury law, with the capability to manage cases from initiation through to trial. This role requires a proactive attorney capable of handling a caseload independently while effectively communicating with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

Duties

  • Handle personal injury cases from inception through trial.
  • Manage case preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct depositions (EBTs) and participate in hearings, conferences, and court appearances.
  • Work closely with clients, providing updates, counsel, and guidance throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses and support staff to build strong cases.
  • Negotiate settlements, as appropriate, while always protecting the client’s best interests.
  • Maintain an active caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1-6 years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Proven litigation experience, including trial preparation and court appearances.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, including negligence and tort law.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a client-focused approach.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • An active member of the New York State Bar.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Proficient in using case management software and MS Office Suite.
