Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Pasadena, CA, to join their team specializing in product liability and complex litigation matters. The role involves working with a diverse team to deliver strategic legal solutions across various jurisdictions.

Duties

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and litigation documents.
  • Manage discovery processes and respond to written discovery.
  • Develop case strategies and trial themes with autonomy.
  • Research and analyze applicable case law and statutes.
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony in litigation and regulatory proceedings.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Argue motions and participate in court appearances.
  • Assist with case evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with and supervise paralegals and support staff.
  • Support senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
  • Engage in business development and networking opportunities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in California required; additional licenses a plus.
  • 0-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in relevant fields.
  • Experience in a billable-hour law firm environment preferred.
  • Strong client-service orientation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with document management systems is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice in California.
