A law firm seeks a mid-level Associate in New York City, NY, with experience in drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements to join their practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law and be adept at managing complex projects.

Duties

  • Draft EPC, construction, and service agreements.
  • Assist in resolving construction-related disputes.
  • Conduct research and draft legal memoranda.
  • Analyze and revise technical documents.
  • Negotiate and enforce performance securities.
  • Participate in due diligence and prepare reports.
  • Liaise with local counsel in various jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with internal experts and communicate with clients.
  • Support senior lawyers and manage junior associates.
  • Prepare materials for business development.
  • Engage in educational seminars and practice groups.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New York bar or eligible for admission.
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • Background in engineering or project management preferred.
  • Strong academic record and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in time management and drafting skills.
  • Client-focused with a strong professional presence.
  • Proactive and resourceful with a long-term interest in business law.
  • Fluency in English; international experience is a plus.

Education
