Commercial Litigator

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced commercial litigator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in New York practice, located in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will manage their own caseload, oversee client files with partner guidance, and maintain autonomy in day-to-day case management.

Duties

• Prepare pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Conduct depositions, court appearances, and trials.
• Draft motions and pleadings.
• Resolve and settle legal disputes on behalf of clients.
• Advocate for clients in court.
• Build and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

• Strong background in law with expertise in New York practice and commercial litigation.
• Labor and employment experience is a plus.
• Experience in providing legal advice and conducting research.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership and good standing with the New York State Bar.
• New Jersey admission a plus.
