Tax Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Tax Associate for their Chattanooga, TN office. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex federal transactional tax matters and advising on state and local tax issues.

Duties

• Handle complex federal transactional tax matters for non-profit and for-profit clients.
• Advise clients on business entity formations, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
• Provide guidance on state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, sales, and use tax.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of relevant tax experience preferred.
• Active bar license in the state of the office location or commitment to obtain one promptly.
• Experience with both non-profit and for-profit clients is advantageous.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.
