Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to join its team in Knoxville, TN. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal services in a dynamic environment, focusing on collection litigation and enforcement of creditor's rights.

Duties

  • Represent clients in initial appearances, pre-trial conferences, motions, hearings, trials, and post-judgment matters.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations.
  • Maintain communications with clients.
  • Coordinate with local counsel.
  • Oversee due diligence on pre- and post-judgment matters.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Handle discovery requests.
  • Travel to various courts throughout Tennessee and manage all aspects of a case's litigation lifecycle.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Comfortable working with legal software.
  • Ability to handle negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with legal software.
