Job Overview:
A respected California-based law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Of Counsel Litigation Attorney with a minimum of seven years of experience to join its Trial & Litigation Practice Group. This role involves managing complex cases, particularly those involving constitutional law and eminent domain. The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker and persuasive advocate, able to thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to a dynamic, cross-office litigation team.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Handle complex litigation matters with a focus on constitutional law, public entity defense, and eminent domain

  • Lead strategy development, case preparation, and courtroom presentation

  • Manage law and motion practice in state and federal courts, including dispositive motions

  • Conduct legal research, prepare briefs, and draft pleadings

  • Interview witnesses, develop evidentiary strategies, and handle depositions

  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and practice groups

  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Provide strategic counsel to public agency and land use clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience

  • Experience with law and motion practice in both state and federal court

  • Demonstrated trial preparation experience, including deposition work and evidence development

  • Background in public agency representation or land use preferred

  • Ability to work in a team-based, multi-office legal environment

  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Excellent academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar (required)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal writing and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Skilled in legal research and procedural strategy

  • Effective in team collaboration and mentoring
