Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney in Florida to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm's owner and attorneys to support clients through challenging family law matters, including heavy asset divorces and contentious cases. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage cases independently and contribute to the firm's growth.

Duties

  • Manage full case handling responsibilities from inception through resolution.
  • Independently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis.
  • Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and engage in cross-training.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Analyze legal issues and documentation specific to each case.
  • Conduct and defend depositions and prepare clients for proceedings.
  • Supervise support staff and manage mediations.
  • Handle cases from inception to trial and manage client expectations effectively.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in family law.
  • Trial skills and experience with evidentiary hearings.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Licensed to practice in Florida.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
