Associate - Private Funds/Investment Services

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate for their Investment Services team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in corporate or securities law, focusing on SEC-registered investment advisers and private investment funds.

Duties

• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters related to federal securities laws.
• Engage in transactional work involving investment advisers and private investment funds.
• Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of corporate and securities law experience at a law firm.
• Experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Securities Act of 1933.
• Transactional/mergers & acquisition experience preferred.
• Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, Illinois, New York, or District of Columbia.

Education

• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in applicable jurisdiction.
