Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employee Benefits Associate to join their collaborative team in Virginia Beach, VA. The team advises a diverse range of clients on benefits and compensation topics, including retirement plans, ESOPs, and executive agreements. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to and grow the firm's ESOP practice.

Duties

  • Advise clients on a broad range of benefits and compensation topics.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the ESOP practice.
  • Build and maintain client relationships independently.
  • Provide guidance on IRS and DOL audits and investigations.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Experience with private-company ESOPs is beneficial but not required.
  • Commitment to long-term practice in employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Ability to work in any of the firm's office locations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia or North Carolina Bar, or ability to become licensed.
