Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney for its federal court and immigration court litigation practice in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves challenging delayed or denied petitions for immigration benefits in federal courts and participating in impact litigation. The position offers the flexibility of fully remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Duties

  • Review administrative records to develop legal challenges to adverse agency decisions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on immigration issues in federal court.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents for federal court filings.
  • Prepare and conduct arguments before federal judges.
  • Present federal court litigation options to various audiences.
  • Represent clients in complex immigration court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve client issues and support projects.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural issues and case processing.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Bar admission.
  • 3 or more years of experience in federal court practice.
  • Strong background in administrative law principles for federal court review of agency action.
  • Immigration court experience is a plus.
  • Litigation experience on behalf of the federal government is welcome.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with a client-friendly focus.
  • Willingness to learn and take on added responsibilities.
  • Ability to show initiative and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Travel to Philadelphia office required twice a year.
  • Willingness to attend networking conferences and travel for business development as needed.

Education
