Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation Defense practice in Florida. This fully remote position allows candidates residing anywhere in the state to manage an independent caseload while collaborating with a seasoned Partner to develop litigation strategies and provide high-quality representation to clients.

Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload of Workers' Compensation defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Partner with senior attorneys to execute complex litigation strategies and client consultations.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of medical records to guide case development and liability assessments.
  • Draft substantive legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, carriers, and employers to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy within a collaborative remote environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of practice experience specifically within Workers' Compensation.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and an active member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and utilize legal technology effectively in a virtual setting.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing complex medical records and drafting concise legal arguments.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience working in a fully remote or hybrid legal environment.
  • Comfort with virtual court proceedings, depositions, and mediations.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD)
