Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate - Of Counsel for a fully remote position based in Providence, RI. This role involves handling motion work related to litigation matters, including drafting demand letters and responding to agency charges. The position is available nationwide in any state where the firm maintains an office.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft briefs and motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
  • Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents.
  • Research and draft appellate briefs.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.
  • Prepare mediation briefs.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Development team to deliver work products to clients.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by firm leadership.

Requirements

  • Admission to the CA state bar and compliance with ethical requirements.
  • Good standing with the bar.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role consideration.
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience for Of Counsel level, with first chair capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong collaboration skills across legal and operational teams.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
