A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its on-site team in Atlanta, GA. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated lawyer to collaborate directly with entrepreneurial counsel, handle complex disputes, and develop both litigation and leadership skills within a growing boutique practice.

Duties

  • Oversee a varied docket of commercial litigation and bankruptcy-related files

  • Draft and submit legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, agreements, discovery requests, and proposed orders

  • Partner with senior attorneys to evaluate legal issues and craft strategic approaches for each case

  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, and business considerations

  • Prepare and file bankruptcy schedules, statements of financial affairs, and related paperwork

  • Represent clients at hearings, status conferences, and other court appearances

  • Liaise with opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties to advance case progress

  • Supervise and coordinate support staff to ensure the timely completion of case tasks

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Georgia

  • Up to five years of experience in commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, or a closely related field

  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn, grow, and assume increasing responsibility

  • Proactive, confident demeanor with the ability to take charge of case management and guide team members

  • Strong academic background from an accredited law school

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel for drafting and organizing legal materials

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Membership in good standing with the Georgia State Bar

Skills

  • Solid organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy talents

  • Aptitude for supervising staff and fostering their development

  • Interest in incorporating innovative legal technology and process improvements

  • Effective interpersonal and client-service orientation, with strong judgment and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in business, real estate, contract, or bankruptcy litigation

  • Familiarity with Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 11 bankruptcy procedures

  • History of leading teams or managing projects in a legal setting

  • Enthusiasm for building a long-term practice and taking on leadership roles within the firm
