Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Bankruptcy in Raleigh, NC. The role involves representing institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters, focusing on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. The attorney will provide comprehensive legal strategies throughout the bankruptcy case lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance and maximizing recoveries.

Duties

  • Represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, including proof of claim and motions for relief from stay.
  • Advise clients on complex bankruptcy and servicing issues.
  • Manage high case volumes and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attend hearings and mediations across North Carolina.
  • Ensure post-petition compliance and oversee loan modifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an Attorney in Bankruptcy, with at least 1 year in North Carolina Bankruptcy Courts.
  • Active member in good standing with the Bar.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership.
