A law firm seeks an Elder Abuse Litigation Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. The attorney will manage a caseload of elder abuse cases, focusing on litigation involving nursing homes.

Duties

  • Represent clients in elder abuse and neglect cases from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, investigations, and case evaluations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement demands.
  • Manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Work with medical experts, investigators, and social service professionals to build cases.
  • Advise clients and families regarding legal rights, remedies, and case strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers, defense counsel, and opposing parties.
  • Maintain accurate case files and comply with all court deadlines.
  • Stay informed on changes in elder law, healthcare regulations, and abuse prevention laws.
  • Collaborate with support staff and contribute to client-centered legal services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of elder abuse litigation experience.
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, mediation, and courtroom proceedings.
  • CA State Bar License.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active CA Bar License.
