Job Overview

A leading national law firm is seeking a Structured Transactions Associate at the midlevel or senior level to join its growing Structured Transactions Practice Group. This opportunity is open to attorneys with a background in finance or corporate law and a strong interest in structured finance, securitization, and related areas such as RMBS, ABS, and CLOs. Recent graduates with relevant experience may also be considered. 

Location

  • Chicago, IL 

Duties

  • Advise clients on structured finance and securitization transactions

  • Handle corporate and finance-related transactional work

  • Support the documentation, negotiation, and execution of structured financial products, including RMBS, ABS, and CLOs

  • Collaborate with cross-practice teams on deal structuring and regulatory compliance

  • Draft offering and transaction documents under tight deadlines

  • Conduct due diligence and oversee closings

Requirements

  • Prior law firm experience in corporate, finance, or structured transactions

  • Preferred experience in structured finance and securitization

  • Experience with RMBS, ABS, CLOs, or related financing structures is highly preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong client service orientation and commitment to excellence

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited, top-tier law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain promptly

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets and structured products
