Job Overview

A prestigious law firm seeks an experienced Government Contracts Associate to join its Chambers-ranked Government Contracts group. The role focuses on handling complex legal matters within the government contracts sector and offers growth opportunities, including potential advancement to partnership.

Location

  • Indianapolis, IN

Duties

  • Represent clients in bid protests and related litigation.
  • Provide legal advice on cybersecurity and compliance with FAR and DFARS regulations.
  • Draft and manage Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs) and claims.
  • Conduct claims analysis, counseling, and litigation under the Contract Disputes Act (CDA).
  • Address federal subcontracting, flow-down compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Support legal matters involving multiple award contracts and small business procurement.
  • Work on cases related to aerospace/defense, infrastructure/construction, life sciences/pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in government contracts law, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Ability to manage specific legal matters independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in client development and legal thought leadership.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar is strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Expertise in bid protests and acquisition regulation compliance (FAR and DFARS).
  • Proficiency in drafting REAs, claims, and handling CDA litigation.
  • Strong analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and intellectually curious.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
