Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Partner-Level Municipal Law Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation to public agencies, including cities and special districts. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse legal issues such as land use, contracts, governance, and ordinance drafting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting public agencies with ethical and innovative legal solutions. Location: Roseland, NJ

Duties

  • Provide legal guidance to public agencies on complex issues including land use, contracts, and governance.
  • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Attend administrative hearings, city council meetings, and planning commission meetings to represent clients.
  • Collaborate with teams and clients to address challenges in public law and provide innovative solutions.
  • Offer training to public agency staff on legal topics such as AB 1234 compliance.

Requirements

  • 20 years of legal practice, with experience in municipal law required.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently while thriving in a team environment.
  • Member in good standing with the NJ State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the NJ State Bar (in good standing).
