Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Charleston, WV, with over one year of defense litigation experience. Duties

  • Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research competently and timely.
  • Prepare and participate in depositions of parties and experts.
  • Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports.
  • Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.
  • Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of defense litigation experience.
  • Excellent writing and research abilities.
  • Comfortable with trial preparation and participation.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
