Job Overview:
A respected Burlington, Vermont-based law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice, with a focus on civil litigation, land use, and real estate matters. Location:

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including land use and real estate disputes

  • Participate in zoning, permitting, and Act 250 proceedings

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, pleadings, and briefs

  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff on litigation and strategy

  • Advise clients across a range of real estate, land use, and commercial matters

  • Support senior attorneys while also independently managing assigned cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation or land use law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters efficiently

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Commitment to professional growth and high-quality client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Solid academic credentials preferred

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Vermont or eligibility for prompt admission

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Knowledge of Vermont land use regulations, zoning, and permitting procedures
