Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Litigation Partner or Senior Counsel to join its expanding offices in Durham, NC. The candidate should possess a minimum of ten years of significant civil and/or commercial litigation experience and a reasonable book of portable litigation business. This role requires a self-starter capable of managing an active caseload and contributing to the firm's growth in North Carolina.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee an active litigation caseload.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, briefs, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct discovery, including depositions and trial preparation.
  • Perform legal research, analysis, and writing.
  • Engage in oral advocacy and communication with clients and courts.
  • Network actively within the community and various organizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of significant commercial litigation experience.
  • Experience in construction litigation preferred.
  • Current member of the North Carolina bar.
  • Litigation experience in North Carolina federal and state courts.
  • Ability to manage a team of associates and paralegals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Current membership in the North Carolina bar.
