Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Healthcare Litigation Attorney in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have over five years of litigation experience in the healthcare sector. This role offers a growth opportunity for a motivated attorney to serve existing clients and expand their client base using the firm's resources. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of premises liability and medical malpractice litigation, including case assessment, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Represent healthcare systems in commitment proceedings and guardianship hearings.
  • Prepare court pleadings, including drafting motions and responses.
  • Collaborate with medical experts to develop case strategies.
  • Research and draft memoranda of law and briefs.
  • Participate in pretrial and trial hearings, and prepare attorneys and clients for trials and depositions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of appeal briefs and oral arguments.

Requirements

  • Over five years of litigation experience required.
  • Experience in healthcare matters preferred, including medical malpractice and premises liability cases.
  • Interest in litigating guardianship and civil commitment cases preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract and build a client base preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under time pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and client orientation.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school with an outstanding academic record.
  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar.

Certifications

  • Must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
