A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent and Technical Specialist to enhance their intellectual property practice. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics, with robust skills in patent application preparation and prosecution. The role demands a minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, with a focus on wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, or computer networking.

Duties:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications, including drafting claims, specifications, and responding to office actions.
• Conduct technical assessments and evaluations related to wireless telecommunication standards, signal processing, and computer networking.
• Perform prior art searches and provide detailed analyses on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement risks.
• Collaborate with inventors, clients, and legal teams to formulate and implement effective patent strategies.
• Review and analyze patent-related documents and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Stay current with developments in patent laws, industry trends, and technological advancements to offer well-informed guidance.
• Support patent litigation and intellectual property disputes with technical expertise and thorough analysis.
• Efficiently manage multiple patent projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
• Proven experience in patent application preparation and prosecution.
