Associate Attorney - Family Law

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join its litigation practice in Forest Hills, NY. This role offers significant courtroom exposure, client engagement, and responsibility in handling family law, matrimonial, and guardianship cases across New York City.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of family law, matrimonial, and guardianship matters.
• Conduct court appearances, conferences, hearings, and oral arguments.
• Draft motions, pleadings, affidavits, stipulations, and legal memoranda.
• Develop litigation strategies and advise clients on legal options.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate billing and case-management records.

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in New York required.
• 2-4 years of legal experience preferred.
• Experience in family law, matrimonial law, guardianship, or related litigation areas strongly preferred.
• Strong legal writing and advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple active matters.
• Professional judgment, initiative, and willingness to learn.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
