Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its Financial Services Team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment finance and commercial finance transactions, supporting clients throughout the transaction lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a motivated attorney who can manage multiple matters while delivering practical and detail-oriented legal support.

Duties

  • Assist with equipment finance transactions, including the preparation and review of loan documents, leases, amendments, and related agreements.
  • Support the preparation of local counsel opinions by reviewing requests, coordinating with referring counsel, drafting opinions, and maintaining consistency across opinion packages.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews, including analysis of organizational documents and transaction materials.
  • Prepare and manage closing checklists and transaction documentation.
  • Track transaction progress to facilitate timely and accurate closings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, referring counsel, and internal team members.
  • Provide proactive, solution-oriented support throughout all stages of transactions.
  • Assist with managing multiple finance matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in equipment finance, asset-based lending, commercial finance, or a related practice area.
  • Experience handling transactional matters and finance-related documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Dependable and self-motivated approach to client service and transaction management.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law, or eligible for admission, in the applicable jurisdiction.
