Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent with at least 2 years of experience to join its patent prosecution practice in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or a related field and will support patent applications and due diligence efforts.

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and international patent offices.
  • Support due diligence activities related to patent matters.
  • Manage assignments from multiple partners and clients, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Patent Bar eligible and, if applicable, licensed to practice law in the respective state.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, polymer science, polymer engineering, biochemistry, or a related field.

Certifications

  • Registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
