Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Ridgeland, MS. The ideal candidate will be licensed and in good standing in the State of Georgia, with a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing attorney. The role involves title review, title curative responsibilities, and nonjudicial foreclosure tasks, requiring expertise in real estate law. This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement based on experience and location.

Duties

• Review title examinations and identify issues within 24-48 hours.
• Cure simple and complex title issues promptly.
• Evaluate and rectify file-level issues in pleadings and documents.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in foreclosure documents.
• Communicate regularly with insurers and external parties.
• Create and edit reports, opinions, and correspondence.
• Manage an independent caseload effectively.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurers and vendors.
• Update case management systems accurately.

Requirements

• Licensed in MS and GA; additional licenses in AL or TX preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate and title review.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Mississippi Law License.
• Membership in good standing with the MS State Bar.

• Proficiency in MS Office suite and internet research.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change.

• Experience with case and document management software preferred.
