Job Title: Patent Attorney

Job Overview:

This opportunity is tailored for individuals with a strong technical foundation in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics and substantial experience in patent prosecution. Duties:

  • Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications

  • Analyze invention disclosures and provide patentability assessments

  • Interface with clients to discuss technical and legal strategies

  • Coordinate with foreign associates for international filings

  • Respond to Office Actions and develop persuasive arguments before the USPTO

  • Stay informed on evolving patent law regulations and procedural rules

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on complex IP portfolios

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in patent preparation and prosecution

  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. state (for attorney applicants)

  • Strong technical understanding of hardware/software systems or semiconductor technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (for attorneys only)

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration Number required

  • State Bar license (attorneys only)

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical abilities

  • Acute attention to detail and organizational competence

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a client-facing setting

  • Previous industry or engineering work experience before law school is highly valued

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processes, software architecture, and hardware systems is a plus
