Job Overview:
An established law firm in Manchester, NH, is looking for a skilled Patent Agent to join their growing patent prosecution practice. This opportunity is open to candidates with a background in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong proficiency in writing, a keen attention to detail, and experience in patent prosecution, including USPTO registration. Remote work options are available for the right candidate.

Duties:

  • Handle patent prosecution tasks, including drafting and filing patent applications with the USPTO

  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop patent strategies

  • Conduct patent searches and analyze patentability

  • Assist with patent office actions, responses, and appeals

  • Manage and maintain patent portfolios for clients

  • Provide technical support for patent litigation matters when needed

  • Stay up-to-date on patent law developments and technology trends

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in patent prosecution

  • USPTO registration is required

  • Previous work experience in engineering (preferably pre-law engineering) is preferred

  • Experience with semiconductor processes or hardware and software design is a major plus

  • Excellent writing skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field

  • Advanced degrees are a plus

Certifications:

  • USPTO Registration (Required)

  • State Bar Membership (for attorneys) is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or physics

  • Expertise in patent prosecution
