Job Overview:

A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking an eDiscovery Attorney with 5-10 years of relevant experience to take on the role of primary client contact, develop and execute project plans for each stage of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), and utilize AI technology to enhance e-discovery processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a Juris Doctorate degree, and active licensure in good standing with a State Bar.

Duties:

  • Serve as clients' primary point of contact, ensuring effective communication and understanding of their needs throughout the e-discovery process.
  • Develop and execute project plans for each stage of the EDRM, collaborating with clients and technology providers to leverage AI technology and improve efficiency.
  • Implement custom workflows to reduce client costs and expedite the discovery process while maintaining quality standards.
  • To streamline processes and ensure compliance, create and refine standard documentation, including ESI protocols, Protective Orders, review protocols, training guides, and review workflows.
  • Manage review teams, providing necessary feedback and guidance to ensure industry-leading speed and accuracy in document review.
  • Guide team leads and provide training to foster a collaborative team environment focused on problem-solving for clients and review teams.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in e-discovery.
  • Active licensure in good standing with a State Bar.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Firm and client information.
  • Proficiency in all phases of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, review, and production.
  • Experience conducting interviews with IT and developing preservation strategies.
  • Negotiation skills for ESI protocols.
  • Proficiency in conducting custodial interviews.
  • Experience drafting and testing keyword searches.
  • Document review management experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt work schedule to support global client engagements across various time zones.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree (BS or BA) is required.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.
