Job Title: Product Liability And Mass Torts Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Charlotte-based law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its complex litigation team specializing in product liability and mass torts. This opportunity, offered through a legal recruiting partner, involves engaging in high-stakes matters, including class actions, multidistrict litigation, and mass tort defense. The associate will work closely with seasoned trial lawyers, contributing to strategic case development, motion practice, and trial preparation for national and multinational manufacturers across diverse industries.

Duties:

  • Participate in litigation involving high-profile product liability and mass tort matters

  • Support lead trial counsel on complex civil cases, including strategy development and trial readiness

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda, including dispositive motions

  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony

  • Engage in all phases of discovery, including written discovery and document review

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure consistent legal service delivery

  • Monitor developments in relevant areas of law and incorporate updates into case strategy

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant litigation experience, including work on product liability, mass tort, toxic tort, or environmental tort matters

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases or assignments

  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar is required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and research capabilities

  • Strong oral advocacy and analytical reasoning skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to navigate complex factual and legal issues

  • Proven experience in client service and team collaboration within a litigation practice
