Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney in Raleigh, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, with a commitment to both the legal and human aspects of the practice. This role involves managing a full caseload and contributing to the growth of the firm's family law practice.

Duties

  • Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and court orders.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Advise clients regarding their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes.
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and trial.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain regular client communication and provide case updates.
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of family law experience.
  • Significant courtroom and hearing experience.
  • Strong legal writing and advocacy skills.
  • Experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediation.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of local rules in Durham, Wake, and surrounding counties.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
