Job Overview
A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Houston, TX office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 2–4 years of experience in litigation or transactional work who is eager to gain hands-on experience in toxic tort, commercial litigation, and transactional matters. The role offers direct client interaction, courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative and mentorship-driven environment.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda analyzing complex legal issues

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and strategic guidance

  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation

  • Work closely with senior attorneys and team members on case strategy and execution

  • Collaborate across multiple practice areas, including toxic tort, commercial litigation, and transactional work

  • Ensure compliance with procedural rules, deadlines, and ethical standards

  • Engage with opposing counsel and court personnel in a professional manner

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in litigation or transactional law, Experience in toxic tort or commercial litigation is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of Texas civil procedure

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines

  • Professional demeanor and proactive communication style

  • Willingness to take ownership of cases and contribute to team efforts

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (Required)
