Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Associate Attorney to join their litigation team in Texas. The role involves handling a diverse range of litigation matters, including personal injury, real estate disputes, and breach of contract cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and experience managing civil litigation from start to finish.

Duties

• Draft original petitions, answers, pleas in intervention, and counterclaims.
• Prepare written discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct and defend oral depositions.
• Draft and argue motions, responses, and replies.
• Lead 1-2 trials per year, including bench and jury trials.
• Train paralegals and legal assistants for efficiency in litigation.
• Mentor less experienced associate attorneys.
• Handle complex non-party discovery disputes.
• Meet with clients to provide legal counsel and advice.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.

Requirements

• License to practice law in the State of Texas.
• 4-8+ years of experience in litigation, with at least 2 years in civil litigation.
• Experience managing non-lawyer staff and mentoring attorneys.

Education

• J.D. required.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Teams.
• Familiarity with AI tools for legal research and drafting.
• Excellent communication and client focus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.
