Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Trademark and Copyright Associate in Atlanta, Georgia. The successful candidate will have 2-4+ years of experience in intellectual property matters, joining a practice that advises clients on developing and expanding their IP portfolios across various global industries.

Duties

  • Advise clients on U.S. and international trademark and copyright registration, including clearance, prosecution, and maintenance.
  • Manage and support global trademark and copyright portfolios, including audits, risk assessments, and strategic counseling.
  • Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, and coexistence agreements.
  • Assist with enforcement of intellectual property rights, including cease-and-desist matters and litigation support in state and federal courts and TTAB.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on trademark, copyright, and related intellectual property issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IP transactions and broader commercial matters.
  • Interface directly with clients, foreign counsel, and government offices, including the USPTO.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of experience in intellectual property matters.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Experience with trademark and copyright registration processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
