Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid to senior level associate to join its Real Estate Finance group in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, significant law firm or clerking experience, and excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Duties

• Originate loans for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
• Draft primary loan documents and manage transactions from inception to post-closing.
• Engage in asset management and workout activities.
• Handle secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Requirements

• 4+ years of broad real estate finance experience.
• Experience with mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
• Ability to navigate complex subject matter effectively.
• Ambition and team-orientation to support national practice growth.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of intended practice.
