Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced employment law Counsel for its Chatham, New Jersey office. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented attorney who thrives in a dynamic environment and is interested in a non-litigation, advisory-focused position. The position offers a hybrid work model with a minimum of two in-office days per week.


Duties

  • Advise clients on employment issues, including hiring, policies, and performance management.
  • Communicate regularly with clients via phone and virtual platforms.
  • Prepare workplace agreements and policies.
  • Handle agency matters with EEOC and DOL.
  • Oversee associates in the Counseling Practice Group.
  • Train clients on employment law and DEI issues.
  • Develop and deepen client relationships.
  • Participate in webinars, seminars, and firm-related events.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of substantive employment law experience.
  • Admitted to the NJ bar; NY bar admission is a plus.
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
  • Strong research and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and matters.
  • Experience in third-party investigations is a plus.


Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.


Certifications

  • Admission to the NJ bar; additional state bar licenses are a plus.


Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive management of teams and deadlines.
