Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney in Louisville, KY. This role primarily involves motor vehicle accident litigation, with opportunities to handle additional personal injury cases such as premises liability and dog bites. The position offers the chance to manage a significant caseload, advocate for clients, and work within a collaborative team.

Duties

  • Manage and litigate motor vehicle accident cases from filing through resolution.
  • Draft and file litigation documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and briefs.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Work with expert witnesses and assist with expert reports and affidavits.
  • Guide clients through the litigation process and maintain strong communication.
  • Collaborate with support staff and leadership to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience practicing as an attorney.
  • 5 years of litigation experience.
  • At least 2 years of personal injury litigation experience.
  • Active Kentucky Bar license and good standing required.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume litigation caseload (50+ cases).
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong client communication and service skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong professional drive and long-term career goals.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Kentucky Bar license.
