Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate in Securitization for its New York office. The role involves advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including whole-business securitizations and related structured finance products.

Duties

  • Work on sophisticated, high-profile transactions for top-tier clients across industries.
  • Take ownership of key deal components from inception to close, working directly with partners and clients.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate complex deal documents.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, tax, intellectual property, and regulatory specialists.
  • Develop into a trusted advisor with deep legal and commercial expertise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ years of substantive experience in a transactional group at a reputable law firm.
  • Experience advising on debt capital markets transactions.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to see the broader business context.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and perform well under pressure.
  • Client-service oriented, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Fluency in English.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree (or LL.M./foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility to become admitted) and in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Judgment to determine when to act independently versus when to escalate issues.
