Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources practice in Anchorage, Alaska. The successful candidate will work on high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters, collaborating with experienced partners and engaging with federal and state agencies.

Duties

  • Collaborate with partners on complex litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Engage with federal and state agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Support litigation involving water rights and permitting reviews.
  • Defend litigation on federal and state permits.

Requirements

  • Three to seven years of experience in environmental law or general regulatory matters.
  • Interest in mining and willingness to undergo training.
  • Ability to support litigation matters effectively.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and critical analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to excel under pressure and meet demanding schedules.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar.

Skills

  • Experience with law review, law journal, moot court, or trial advocacy team preferred.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is highly desired.
