Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate for its Mergers & Acquisitions practice in New York. The ideal candidate will possess strong academic credentials, legal expertise, and a commercial mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple workstreams and communication channels.

Duties

  • Draft M&A transaction documents for public and private clients.
  • Prepare acquisition agreements and ancillary documentation.
  • Interact with opposing teams in deals, including sellers, buyers, and advisors.
  • Handle domestic transactions on both buy and sell sides.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for transactions.
  • Support planning, execution, and completion of M&A transactions.
  • Assist clients with corporate establishment and governance.
  • Advise on start-ups, joint ventures, and corporate restructures.
  • Lead due diligence processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public M&A.
  • Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
  • Outstanding communication and drafting skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and takes initiative.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in good standing.
