Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate to join its Business, Property, and Construction Law Practice Group in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of legal experience in transactional and/or litigation work related to business, real property, and construction matters.

Duties

  • Provide guidance on compliance with laws and regulatory oversight processes, including CEQA, Title 5, DTSC, DSA, and OPSC.
  • Assist clients with construction delivery methods, land acquisition, state-funded educational programs, and developer fees.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including construction contracts and facilities use agreements.
  • Support litigation tasks, including discovery, legal research, and motion writing.
  • Conduct research and legal analysis of pertinent laws and perform legislative and policy analysis.
  • Prepare and draft board resolutions, agenda items, and other legal documents.
  • Identify legal issues, develop strategies, and recommend solutions to serve client needs.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and initiative to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success as a team player and ability to work independently.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.
